Lone Working: Spotting the Signs and Staying Safe

Lone Working- Spotting the Signs and Staying Safe
Lone working can present unique risks, particularly when dealing with aggression or challenging behaviour. This session explores early warning signs, de-escalation techniques, and practical strategies to help you stay safe, professional, and in control while working alone.

Have you ever had to deal with an aggressive person while at work? Aggression can take many forms, and there are early warning signs we can look out for to help prevent a situation from escalating. In this session, we’ll explore practical tips for de-escalating conflict, including how to set and maintain professional boundaries. Driver and rider trainers may encounter hostility from other road users, members of the public, or even their own pupils. This short session helps you understand the signs and causes of aggressive behaviour and provides strategies to stay safe and in control. A case study and questions at the end of the session will help you apply these concepts to your everyday training.
