⏳ Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Have you ever been in a situation with a pupil that left you feeling uncomfortable, where a professional line may have been crossed by them? Or perhaps you’ve received a complaint, either directly or via the DVSA, regarding a possible breach of professional boundaries?
In this short session, we explore what professional boundaries mean for driver and rider trainers, the most common breaches, by both pupils and trainers, and how to reduce the risks involved. Professional boundaries are the limits that define the relationship between a professional and the person in their care. They act like riverbanks, guiding and containing the flow of the working relationship so it remains safe, structured, and focused.
