Safeguarding: Gaslighting and Emotional Abuse

Safeguarding- Gaslighting and Emotional Abuse
Gaslighting and emotional abuse can be subtle, damaging, and difficult to recognise. This session helps trainers understand what these behaviours are, how to spot the warning signs, and what action to take to safeguard those who may be at risk.

What do we mean by the term gaslighting, and what does emotional abuse involve? Why are they an issue, and why do driver and rider trainers need to be aware of them? What dangers do they pose, and to whom? In this session, we’ll explore these important and topical issues, looking at how to recognise the signs, who may be affected, and what action to take. A case study and questions at the end of the session will help you apply these concepts to your everyday training.
